One of the best dinners ever, kinda had all my favourite types of food in one sitting! Approx. $70 for a 7 crse jap-fusion meal, crazy good service, free flow of lychee(?) wheatish hot japanese tea.

Starter platter- a hunk of scallop with asparagus foam, fois gras and smoke salmon with whip cream.
(non alcoholic) Sour plum shots.
Sashimi platter. I hate the ebi sashimi cos the taste is too strong and the meat too mushy, so the waiter offered to fry it for me, and served it with the yummiest truffle mash potato.
Truffle chawanmushi which was just insaneeee. Love love love truffles.
Crab bisque soup cappuccino style.
Cod steak on a bed of truffle mash for my main (was mad full by this time).
Warm chocolate cake for dessert.
Post dinner rose lemon tea.

After touching down in Melb, we dropped our luggage off at Nad's before heading to Brunswick Street, which was absolutely lovely... a lot of vintage and contemporary stores, discount "pop-up" stores, restaurants and cafes of every kind, pubs around every corner and walls sprayed to graffiti(ous) perfection. We had the best Viet there (the pho was really motherfucking good), cheap pizza on couches where mini skirt Nad flashed her undies to everyone, and cider + blonde beer at a random pub before tramming back to St. Kilda's in the cold.

Friday night; Gehttoed at Macronaldz with our Malibu and Bacardi takeaways before heading to Soul. Didnt stay long cos it was way to empty and no one rly seemed to be having a good time. Just in their own worlds techtoniking and shufflin? So aft a tequila shot ($5 only!) we headed to Zouk and IM SO THANKFUL WE DID cos TROUSE BROTHERS was like ASODNASJHASBDASHDBAOMGGGGGGGWTFASDNSKJDAS BEYOND AMAZING. And they seem kind of sexy and handsome in that mysterious F1 way right?!? Went mad at practically every song they spun. We stayed all the way til the lights came on and it felt like I ran 10km at that point of time. Once upon a time, there lived a little girl. She had just broken up with her boy of 4 years and was a complete emotional wreck. A lean mean mood swinging machine, she strives to perfect her "I'm Okay" face and demeanor, to be normal so that that the boy and her could still hang out as friends. She was jealous of the boy. How he could seem so nonchalant about the whole thing? Surely he must hurt inside, just like her. The truth was though, he was stronger than her, only because he had been hurting for a far greater time. She understands this and yet, can barely keep herself under control and ends up compromising the very friendship in search for an explanation behind all this nonchalance.

Fast forward to Valentines Day. A cliched, disgusting, gross and overdone celebration of love between couples everywhere. A day that was never really celebrated between the two was suddenly amplified as one that perhaps should be spent together in view of the current circumstances. She wasn't sure why it was suddenly SO important to have him on v day. It didn't matter before, why should it matter now? She did realize though, that the reason why she asked him out 1 week before VDay itself, was to in a way, ensure that he spent this day with her and no one else. She wasn't ready to lose him, even though she tries everyday to convince herself, to give him the freedom and time away from her that he deserves.

On Sunday afternoon, February the 13th, the boy asks the little girl: "Can I meet you on Tuesday night instead?". Her worst fears had been confirmed. He was going on a date with someone else, wasn't he? How could he. How could he agree to a dinner with N, someone he only met a few weeks before? The little girl was appalled to say the least. But still, she rationalized. It will be okay. After all, friends are friends. And what's the difference between Monday and Tuesday? Absolutely nothing. She still met him on Sunday evening, and had plenty of fun.

On Monday morning, the little girl was in great spirits after having spent time with the boy on Sunday. Even though Monday is always a drag at work, she was genuinely happy, and looking forward to planning for Tuesday night. She has a tendency to do this. To place great expectations on little things and dissolve when they are not met. Monday afternoon, the boy texts that the date might not be on after all. And needless to say, the little girl's spirits soared right out of her and up- up and away. She thought to herself that perhaps, he did care more about her than N, that he could cancel? Suddenly everything had rainbows beaming out of them.

However at 6pm, the little girl gets the text that the boy is meeting N. Instead of being understanding and grateful that the boy even bothers to text her about his whereabouts with no lies, she goes into her "psycho-bitch mode", where everything is read into and over-thought, where sarcasm is the only method of communication, and where a concoction of anger, frustration, desperation and sadness is just flowing out of her veins. She sends some hurtful and irreversible texts to the boy, searching perhaps for an explanation, or some kind of reaction at least? She just couldn't stomach the fact that he was out with someone else. It hurt more than she thought it would, the fact that he chose someone over her. She was split between not knowing how he could do this to her, and not knowing how she could have done this to him. She felt like a first runner up, good because you won something, but not good enough to be the best. All her efforts will be second. Tuesday is second to Monday. She was second to N.

Fast forward to 1am. The little girl gets a text from the boy: "Are you asleep yet?". The girl lets her thoughts consumer her: Great, the boy just came back from his date. It's 1am. I wonder how it went. God I hope it was shitty. But why would it be? God I hate this. It's over. There's nothing to be done. Again, the psycho bitch within her rears its ugly head, and she finds herself unable to just be civil and accept things. She doesn't even know what she was searching for, or what she expected out of it. Certainly just because she felt hurt does not warrant her hurting the boy? After a tirade of verbal abuse from the girl, the boy confesses:

"I did not go out with N. I stayed home the whole night 'til 10pm because I was making you a VDay present. I wanted to surprise you with it tmr because I thought you were strong enough to accept that I was going out with N on VDay. The truth is I only met N, along with her sister and their friend for coffee at 10pm."

Suddenly, the little girl was at a loss for words. Something that could have been so sweet was destroyed into oblivion at her very own hand. Why couldn't she be stronger. Why couldn't she place the faith she knows he deserves in the boy? The very same faith that the boy had placed in her and that she compromised. She can't even decide if it was one big misunderstanding, or the very reflection of her selfish personality. She tried to apologize, to give him an explanation he would accept. But now it was the boy's turn to feel hurt and angry. It was one big mess and she was its creator.

So it is Tuesday today. Their stipulated VDay. It took a lot to convince the boy to still go along. And hopefully, although impossibly, the little girl can still make up for all her mistakes. She knows she needs to be a stronger person to get him back. She knows he is the only one she will ever love. The End.

So me and my boyfriend broke up. I would like to say that it was mutual, and we're going on with our lives but unfortunately for me it has been kind of insane and tragically ironic as the break stemmed from my own selfishness in the first place. I thought I could live without you. Easily. Seamlessly. After all in these 4 years it would be a lie to say that our relationship was still the "I'll die if I don't see you today", "I miss you so much", "holding hands make me so happy" kind of relationship (the inevitable degeneration I guess). Comfort sets in and you find yourself asking, is there something more? Perhaps a rational and very practical person would not want to explore the answer to the question. To be happy with what you have. I didn't do what I did because I didn't love you. I just had to know, I guess. Yes, it was a mistake. Yes, I wish I had a time machine. But no, there is nothing I can do, but believe that we'll converge again. How do you instill faith that was lost? How do you restore a person's ability to love? I wish I knew. In the meantime, I'll be waiting.

resisted buying anything while shopping til I saw this gorgeous Kate Spade sequin bag in the KS window. Its the perfect replacement for my Fendi party bag which strap broke :((( Check the beyond cool DNA metal chain, duo coloured sequin body (gold swept one way and silver swept the other way), perfect party size and fabuluz gold dot interior... Best of all it was like 50% AND like not tt exp for me to worry too much about bumping it ard :D It still made a considerable hole in my bank though, gags.

It's here~ Chanel's autumn 2010 collection, the Collection Les Contrastes de Chanel. Dropped by my fav Chanel counter (Robinsons @ Raffles city) with Esther e economist after werk tdy to pick out the ones I wanted. It rly is a lovely vvv wearable collection, alot of coral for the lips and cheek (LUV CORAL) and dark/translucent shades for the nails and eyes. Counter piks;

Here's what I did take home;

Joues Contraste blush in 13 Candy, a lovely lovely peach with a pinkish veil. Kind of like a bronzer. Candy is not LE, but the LE shades just didn't do it for me. I wasn't sold on Pink Explosion, which imo was quite a typical soft pink blush. What I rly love abt all JCs though, is the impeccable wild rose scent!! I'm going to be snortin this.
Glossimer in 144 Rose Dilemma. ZOMG fell in love with this IMMEDIATELY. The perfect pink, striking the balance between a pop and soft shade, with flecks of purplish blu and silver throughout that flawless formula. I die. It goes on krzly nice on its own, or creates an insane halo effect over other lip colours.
Le Vernis in 509 Paradoxal (grey with a vivid purple sheen) and 493 Jade Rose (nude with a purplish pink sheen). Both appear to be shimmers.

Srsly, nothing quite gets my make up heart going like Chanel. MAD LUV.

Got around to checkin out Topshop Make Up tt launched here a few days back~ What I rly luv abt Topshop's make up line are the hipster colours and beyond kute packaging... Naturally I was super super excited about the nail lacquers. I'm not sure if all the colours were on shelf, but my picks were

Bee's Knees: Pastel yellow (creme)
Stolen Sapphires: Cobalt (creme)
Voltage: Black blue, a very dark ink with no royal undertones (creme)
Gypsy Night: Smoky jelly with holographic particles (sprkl)
Cloud: Grey (slight pearl)

I swatched them on Alexandro soon after and I'm rly quite pleased with the formula... Only Bee's Knee's had slight formulation issues- streaky, but solvable in 2 or 3 coats. Will def be going baq to the counter to check out moar of the colours!~!~ Other than the nail polish, I got a lip polish in Coral, that I alr love and will prob get it in either Cherry Picker or Rhubarb next! The lip polish has a tiny tiny mirror on the inside of the lid so u don't hv to whip out a mirror or go to the loo to apply it... Also got a free bag. PSYCHE.

So today I wore my favourite 3x wolf t... I went out to meet Sandhya, my schm8 fr ACJC and only my most favourite veterinarian in the world~ We had Thai @ Sunshine Plaza thnx to Jo's recommendation afew days baq.

Sandy was l8, because, you know, no one expects Karate Kid to be tt long of a movie. So no worries, I pride myself at being a lone shopper (I'm most efficient and also, most damaging that way). In the 0.5hr tt I waited, I kind of got a big bag fr Steve Madden. I got 2 pairs of shoes fr the sale~ In my defense they are both comfy and have different purposes haha. 1's for werk, and the other's more for partying/gg out I guess.

Shoe #1: The studded heel says Gucci fr. a few seasons baq, but the platform embellishment says Chanel (well sort of, just that Chanel's is of pearls). It'll go naicely w all my blue and pink shirts v(^_^)v

Shoe #2: Fell in luv w it the mo I saw it~ The insane platform, the sandal cut (no probability of blisters or death by toe squeezing), the faux semi precious stones, the gold studs, not to mention comfy enough for elong8ed periods of time (read: clubbin). Pity tt it isn't exactly corporate altho I can prob try for dress down Fridays... and pity also that it isnt a wedge. If not it'd be moar than perfect.

DAISO $2 EVERYTHING = LUV. Imo, the best thing Daiso offers is top quality Japanese hair rubbers... Thy're so pretty and it takes alot to make them go out of shape. They also slide off your hair, and don't have that annoying metal sealer that is the ultimate hair trap... My favourite this time ard is the sprkly gradient blu one (tts y I bought 2 hehe). I brought Euji (Eugene's japanese name) out for lunch to repay him for treating me to dinner last night... and suffice to say Ippudo is our all time favourite relatively affordable restaurant?!@?#!?@#@!#? Muaha. Idk why people think its overrated. We luv it~ Tdy we had sakura tea, renkon chips, shrimp bun, and the usual ramen (Euji had prk belly but none of tt disgusting innards for me kthnx)... MAJOR YUM.
Aft lunch we (okay I) went krz at Daiso, I love tt place and it's $2 goodness...
Thn we mrted dwn to Cityhall to collect our corporate wear from the tailor's... all rdy to start werk, LE SIGH. Euji will be starting werk the same day as me, he's doing the graduate program @ Jones Lang Lasalle.
I left for flbl trng aft that and it was fun v(._.)v Ample game time ftw. Supper/gossip/bitchin sesh with the grlz @ some thai plc afters was pretty fun too.

Had insanely good ramen @ Ippudo Mandarin Gallery w e partial Clicky tdy. We had renkon (lotus root) chips and e shiromaru motoaji signature ramen, MMM MMM SO GEWD. I can drool just thinking about the soup and the pork. Jeebus. Pretty good value too, like 15 bux a bowl:

Can't w8 to go again~

A.A. Lacquer Review:

LOVE the colour, a dirty mint green (w e slightest grey undertone)
Nice creamy formula that's pretty pigmented
Streaky if only 1 coat is applied, goes opaque in 2 thin ones
With 2 coats colour is quite close to the colour visible in the bottle
Love the packaging (H8s OPI's, I'm more of a clean line than a curve person)
Handle is long and easy to use
Brush i.m.o. picks up too much colour, which leads to bubbling (but bubbling is easily solved w a gr8 top coat)
Brush is also quite stiff and does not spread out over the nail, thus a lot of strokes are required
But at the rather affordable prize of 3 for USD$15, and the insane creme colours avail, I'll def be expanding my current collection of 2!
Malibu grn, Butter, L Esprit, Summer Peach and Royal Blue look pretty interesting~
